Privacy policy

Intention Squared (“we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you shop at intentionsquared.com and how we use it. We are based in Grand Junction, Colorado, USA.

What we collect

  • Order information: name, email, shipping and billing address, phone (if provided), and order details.
  • Personalization content: the title, goals, and cover choices you submit for your journal.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by Shopify and its payment partners. We do not store full credit card numbers on our own systems.
  • Technical data: device/browser info, IP address, and cookies or similar technologies used to run the store and understand traffic (see Cookies below).

How we use your information

  • To fulfill and ship your order (including personalization)
  • To communicate about your order, shipping, or support requests
  • To operate, secure, and improve our storefront
  • To meet legal or accounting requirements when needed

Who we share it with

We share only what’s needed to run the business:

  • Shopify — our ecommerce platform and payment processing
  • Print-on-demand / fulfillment partners — to print, personalize, and ship your journal (they receive order and personalization details needed to make and deliver it)
  • Carriers — for delivery and tracking
  • Microsoft Clarity: to understand how visitors use our site. Clarity records how you interact with our pages (clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement) to create heatmaps and session replays. Text you type into forms is masked. Learn more in the Microsoft Privacy Statement at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies

Our store uses cookies and similar tools for cart, checkout, session security, and basic analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work if cookies are disabled. We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use our site so we can improve it. Clarity uses first- and third-party cookies to collect usage data, which Microsoft processes. Where required by law, we ask for your consent first.

Data retention

We keep order and personalization records as needed for fulfillment, customer service, and legal/tax purposes. Support emails are retained as long as useful to help you.

Journal quiz usage history

Where your analytics privacy settings allow, we use a protected identifier derived from the email you enter to understand how often people generate journal goal boards and return to generate another. We record the date and time of a successful quiz generation and whether it uses an eight-goal or 24-goal board. Repeated delivery of the same generated result is not counted again. This does not count every manual journal, page visit, or purchase.

This separate usage history contains no readable email addresses, journal titles, goals, artwork, IP addresses, or payment details. The identifier lets us recognize the same email, but it is not proof of a person's identity and is not fully anonymous. We do not use this history to subscribe you to marketing or send you emails.

We store this history privately with Render, our application hosting provider, separately from Shopify customer records and order/design recovery records. Each event expires 364 days after it is recorded. Expired events are excluded from reports immediately and deleted during hourly cleanup while the service is running, or when it next starts. Later activity does not extend an earlier event's expiry. This disposable usage history is not included in our application recovery backups.

We respect Shopify's analytics privacy settings and Global Privacy Control for this tracking. If analytics permission cannot be determined, we do not record a usage event. You can still create a journal without analytics tracking or a marketing subscription. Changing analytics preferences stops future tracking; it does not automatically erase earlier records. To ask us to delete this history, email store@intentionsquared.com using the address you used for the quiz. We may verify your request.

The existing encrypted email receipt used to enable goal help is separate: it authorizes help for 30 days, and expired receipts are removed on subsequent quiz or goal-help activity. Marketing subscriptions, preview-email delivery records, and order records have their own purposes and retention practices.

Your choices & rights

Depending on where you live (including certain US state laws), you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold about you, or to opt out of certain uses. To make a request, email us. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Children

Our store is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
